The two types do not differ much from each other, save from the fact that challenge quests require you to fight unlikely pairings of monsters. There are two types of arena quests: arena and challenge. This turns each arena stage into a test of pure skill as a hunter, as you won’t have any of your favored abilities. You will need to choose from a predetermined set of equipment and items for each arena quest. Most of these rewards are used to unique weapons and armor, including those exclusive to events You will be rated based on your time, increasing your chances of getting more rewards. Special rewards can be obtained for taking out all target monsters within specific time limits. Unlike hunting monsters in the wild, those fought in the arena must be slayed to clear the quest. The description says it’s offered to hunters “at the pinnacle of their field”, so it makes sense it’s easiet to get it from the hardest quest.The monster arena pits you against one or more monsters previously encountered in optional quests.
The Ace Hunter has a high chance of dropping from this quest, but it’s not the only one that offers it. To get these coins, you’ll have to complete the Arena 05 quest, in which you face a Rajang.
You can also get the Hunter King coin from this fight fairly easily, although other quests no doubt drop it as well. You can get both of these coins from the Arena 04 challenge, in which you hunt a Barioth. If you don’t have a specific arena challenge, you’ll have to face its target in a High Rank expedition or quest for it to unlock. You can get all of the coins from arena challenges. You’ll also have to pay 9000 zenny to the blacksmith for the service.
